How to Choose the Right First Class
If you are new, the best first class depends on what you want to work on. Kickboxing is a good place to start for striking, fitness and cardio, and confidence. Jiu-Jitsu and submission wrestling are a great fit for learning control, escapes, and ground skills. MMA is a good option if you want a complete combat sports approach that blends striking and grappling.
You do not need to be in shape before you start. The class is how you get in shape. Bring comfortable athletic clothes, water, and a willingness to learn one step at a time.
For Beginners
Your first class should feel structured, welcoming, and useful. Expect a warmup, technique instruction, partner practice when appropriate, and coaching that matches your current experience level. Nobody expects you to know everything on day one.
